Kaush founded Rakhit Petroleum Consulting Ltd. (RPCL) in 1989, which became internationally known for its integrated hydrodynamics work and unconventional gas studies. RPCL purchased and merged with Canadian Discovery Ltd. in 2005. Under Kaush’s leadership, CDL grew to be one of the largest data providers for Western Canada, in addition to producing hundreds of technical articles, studies and consulting projects. Kaush also co-founded and has been a director of numerous highly successful junior E&P companies including Groundwater Solutions Ltd. (now Matrix Solutions Inc.), Vicana Ridge Resources, Kinwest Resources Corp., Seven Generations Energy Ltd. and CODA Petroleum Inc. Kaush earned his B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from the University of Waterloo and was the first person to earn a post-graduate degree (M.Sc.) in Petroleum Hydrogeology from the University of Alberta.
Paul brings over 20 years of experience of progressively senior financial and leadership positions with Alberta Energy Corporation, Natural Gas Clearinghouse, PrimeWest Energy and Trident Resources Corp. His expertise includes corporate development, financing (debt/equity), acquisitions/divestures, investor relations, risk management, marketing and legal affairs. Paul has been with CDL since 2012 and currently leads corporate and strategic development with overall responsibility for finance, sales, marketing, administration and human resources. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics from Oklahoma City University and a MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.
Matt has over 15 years of experience in oil & gas industry database and application development. As a database architecture specialist, he has played a key role in numerous high profile initiatives at CDL, including the development of CDL’s Play Evaluation Platform, the EDGE software and the Well Completions & Frac Database. In his current role as Data Director, Matt oversees and guides CDL’s Data Division day-to-day operations and continual development. He manages the Data Analytics team responsible for the development and continued quality of CDL’s databases and platforms as well as the information services and technology group. Matt holds a diploma in Computer Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Meridee joined Canadian Discovery in 2005 working with both CDL's Intelligence and Expertise groups as well as with data management and GIS personnel to streamline geological mapping techniques. Currently, as Technical Analysis Director, Meridee plays a key role in Intelligence projects and products, including developing, editing and managing content for Discovery Digest, CDL's weekly publication. She has worked with Amoco in Calgary, Houston and London, gaining experience in Canadian and international exploration and development. Meridee holds a B.Sc. (Geological Engineering) from the University of Saskatchewan and an Applied Bachelor of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
Adam joined CDL in 2021 with over 10 years of progressive experience in the oil and gas industry. His experience has included exploration, consulting, and technical sales.In his most recent role, Adam was the technical leader of a group that provided subsurface consulting including petrophysics, fracture design and modeling, rate transient analysis, and production simulation. He has had the opportunity to work on projects in Canada, The United States, Argentina, Norway, The United Kingdom, India, China, and Oman.Adam has also taught multiple courses on coupled simulation (petrophysics, fracture modeling, and flow simulation) as well as provided inhouse consulting to clients in the United States, Argentina, and Norway. Adam holds a Bachelor’s of Science and Masters of Science both from the University of Regina and is a registered Professional Geologist in the Province of Alberta.
Christa Williams is a Geologist with over 15 years of experience in conventional oil, waterflood and natural gas plays across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. She has held the role of Senior Geologist at Trident Exploration from 2017-2019, and Project Geologist at Enerplus Resources from 2005-2016. Christa has been recognized for technical excellence and leadership in workshops and special analyses to facilitate the technical delineation and horizontal development within complex conventional play types. Christa is actively volunteering in the geoscience community, currently the acting President of the Canadian Well Logging Society (CWLS, 2020-2021), Web-Site & Publications Chair with the CWLS between 2017 and 2019, and co-chair for the annual Canadian Society of Petroleum (CSPG) Core Conference between 2017 and 2020. Mrs. Williams has a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Calgary, holds a professional designation as a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), P.Geol, member of the CWLS, and member of the CSPG.
